Okeechobee City Public Works Director David Allen was found deceased Thursday, Feb. 1, 2024, after apparently taking his own life.
The Okeechobee City Police is conducting a death investigation.
Allen was hired as Public Works Director on Sept. 11, 2012.
"David was a great guy, well loved by his Okeechobee City family. We are very shocked and heartbroken over this tragedy. We ask that everyone keep his family, friends and our City in their prayers," the City of Okeechobee press release shared.
