Virtual College Planning workshop scheduled

Posted

STUART, Fla. – Martin County School Board is launching a virtual college planning workshop for parents and guardians of high school students. The college counseling team at the school district said the new system is called Scoir, according to the Martin Moments.

Scoir is cloud-based software that connects students, their families, high schools and colleges for a better admissions process, according to Scoir’s website. It’s a network built for a more engaged college journey and is committed to student success.

It gives students and their families the ability to navigate the college choice and application process. The students can access the user-friendly app, update their profile, build and review a college list, conduct college searches, connect with an admissions representative and more. In addition, Scoir provides financial tools for parents and guardians, giving them a better understanding of the costs of attendance at various colleges or universities.

A virtual information session has been set up for Martin County parents/guardians Monday, Sept. 20, from 7 – 8 p.m. Scoir’s team will walk families through the platforms during this session while answering questions on college planning and financial aid tools.
