Skydive on July 13 and become a World Skydiving Day record holder

Posted

The U.S. Parachute Association (USPA), Australian Parachute Federation, British Skydiving, Canadian Sport Parachuting Association, and New Zealand Parachute Industry Association are thrilled to introduce the inaugural World Skydiving Day on July 13, 2024. This exciting event aims to celebrate the unforgettable experience of skydiving while also setting a new record for the most skydives on this day worldwide.

“World Skydiving Day is a call to people from all walks of life to take a leap and be part of history. We invite you to experience this adventure of a lifetime — it’s not just for adrenaline junkies or a distant dream on your bucket list,” USPA Executive Director Albert Berchtold said. “This day is about more than just the thrill of the jump. It represents a global community coming together to share in the sport of skydiving, which inspires and unites us, from novices to professional skydivers.”

On July 13, participants from around the world at hundreds of skydiving centers will set the first record for the Most Skydives on World Skydiving Day. All skydives that are documented for that day will count, whether you are doing your first skydive or your 10,000th!

In Clewiston, Skydive Spaceland Florida will participate in World Skydiving Day and will submit the required proof of your skydive; all you have to do is show up and jump!

Participants can order a digital certificate to show they were part of the World Skydiving Day Record from USPA; the certificate will be issued after the final jump total is known.

“World Skydiving Day will be a great time to try out skydiving with our vibrant South Florida skyfamily,” said Spaceland Florida co-owner/manager Lisa Hornsby. “We’re inviting anyone and everyone who would like to skydive to enjoy the day with us, have a nice lunch with the tasty Blue Skies Cafe food truck, meet our skydivers, and see what this fun sport is all about.”

For first-timers/non-solo jumpers, Skydive Spaceland is offering a two-tandem World Skydiving Day special. Both jumps can be done that day to help the record numbers, or the second can be held for a later date. One can also purchase a single skydive if preferred, of course!
