Okeechobee Brahmans shutout Clewiston Tigers 7-0

OKEECHOBEE- The Okeechobee High School Brahman varsity baseball team shutout the Clewiston Tigers 7-0 on April 2.

The Brahmans jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning, and added onto that lead in the fifth inning thanks to a 2-RBI hit by Hunter Daniels in the bottom of the fifth.

The win against Clewiston is the fourth time this season the Brahman defense has held an opponent scoreless. On Feb. 29 the Brahmans defeated Fort Pierce Westwood in an 11-0 rout. On March 5 Okeechobee beat the Sebastian River Sharks 6-0, and on March 13 they defeated Riverview Sarasota 4-0.

Ethan Blomefield and Hunter Daniels led Okeechobee with two RBIs against the Sharks, While Gavin Kindell had two hits and two stolen bases. Brahman pitchers Carsen Williams, Ian Liscomb, and Tucker Myers all combined to allow only one hit.

The Brahmans are coming off a 12-12 record last year and an appearance in the district semifinal where they lost to the Suncoast Chargers.

Okeechobee is set to host a district game against the South Fork Bulldogs on April 16. The Brahmans and Bulldogs will face off at 7 p.m. at Okeechobee High School.
