OKEECHOBEE -- The South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) will host two meetings next week about the North of Lake Okeechobee Storage Reservoir (LOCAR) Section 203 Study.
On Tuesday, Aug. 1, from 10 a.m. to noon, an open house will be held at the SFWMD Okeechobee Service Center, 316 N.W. Fifth Street, Okeechobee. Technical staff from the SFWMD will be available to answer questions about the project. No formal presentation will take place during this meeting.
On Thursday, Aug. 4, a zoom meeting is set for 2 p.m. o review the alternatives considered, the proposed plan, and the project benefits. Members of the public will be able to ask questions and provide public comment at the meeting. For more information, go online to sfwmd.gov.
