Local fourth grader creates YouTube channel

Posted

LABELLE — Kids creating content for their own YouTube channels has become more and more popular over the years and that trend has hit right here in LaBelle. A local girl has created her first video for her channel, named Coltscats.

In her first video, the adorable fourth grader meows during what will likely become her signature introduction, and asks watchers to comment with different video ideas as she starts her three-marker challenge.

During the challenge the aspiring YouTube star blindly chooses three different colored markers and then does the same for the item she has to draw.

The video has received 106 views since being posted on August 21, 2021. She also gained 11 followers in just three days.

“She has been really into watching kids make their own YouTube videos,” her mother explained. “And with her asthma and other medical things she is working through, it has been tough to find something that she truly enjoys to do as a hobby. She really is enjoying all the aspects of the video making. And she is just starting out but is very interested to learn how to edit the videos.”

Having a YouTube channel requires close parental monitoring but can teach many different things, from speech and confidence building, to entrepreneurial skills.

Parents can even use a service like tubeviews.org to help boost their kid's channel and get them noticed. Stars do this so that their content will show up under the "Relevant Videos" category and it helps the child stay on track with their channel and see progress faster.

This upcoming star will add new video content as her elementary school schedule allows. Her parents said that it is a slow process, as they have to review and help edit the content before it is uploaded.
