Letter to the Editor: OCSO targets traffic offenses

Posted

The article "OCSO targets traffic offenses” was most informative and reminds me of what I encounter as I travel in Okeechobee. And as I have several times a week on U.S. 98 from Basinger, it reminds me to be more careful.

I’d like to suggest that Okeechobee County Sheriff’s patrol often and on a regular basis because I seem to be a slow poke, vehicles always passing me as I drive 65 to 75 mph, and within several seconds they are out of my sight going 80+ mph. I also have experienced idiots passing me on a solid yellow line on U.S. 98 North (2 lane traffic) while I have my left turn signal on to turn off onto Lofton Road. I have learned to slow down and make sure they back off before I even attempt that turn.

Please, more patrols on a regular basis on highway U.S. 98!

traffic, basinger
