CLEWISTON — Nationwide about half of American adults have been vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus. With vaccine free and widely available, some employees are offering extra incentives to employees who get the shot against the deadly virus.

U.S. Sugar has launched a "Kickin' COVID Together" contest.

Every U.S. Sugar employee who is fully vaccinated by June 30, 2021 will be eligible to enter the contest.

"We are excited about stepping up efforts here at our company," explained Judy Sanchez of U.S. Sugar.   

"After reaching a point where approximately 40-50% of our workforce was vaccinated, even after 100% were offered access and assistance to receive the vaccine during work hours if necessary -- including offering some on-site vaccinations through a partnership with Hendry Regional Medical Center -- our CEO wanted to provide incentives in order to help more people get protected.

"Last week, we announced a major incentive program for the people of U.S. Sugar — Kickin COVID Together. 

"Everyone who already is or gets fully vaccinated can join this program and receive $100 and be entered into a raffle to win a fully loaded 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 Truck and other great prizes," she explained.

"Fortunately, there are now multiple locations in the Glades that offer both appointment and walk-in vaccinations: Pfizer, Moderna and J&J.  We will still offer vaccinations on site if necessary."

The contest will close Wednesday, June 30 at 8 a.m.

 To enter, you must be an employee of U.S. Sugar, be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with proof of valid COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card.
