WEST PALM BEACH — Leadership for the Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties announced new officers and members of the Board of Directors, elected at a recent meeting.

Board officers include Julie Fisher Cummings, chair; Susan P. Brockway, vice Chair; Dennis S. Hudson, III, treasurer; and Christina M. Macfarland, secretary, according to Danita D. Nias, president and CEO. New members include Anquan Boldin, Fabiola Brumley, Tammy Jackson-Moore and Meredith Trim.

“Together with our donors, our mission is to serve as the leading catalyst for building vibrant communities through meaningful philanthropy,” said Nias. “As we approach our 50th anniversary year in 2022, this new Board leadership team and the addition of four new board members well positions our Community Foundation for exciting things ahead.”

The Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties has provided more than $150 million in grants and scholarships over its nearly 50-year history. With more than $200 million in assets, it is one of Florida’s largest community foundations. Through the support of its donors and fundholders, the Foundation has been able to address some of the community’s most pressing needs, including hunger, housing and education.

“It is clear that our newest board members will bring both passion and experience to their roles on our board of directors,” said Cummings. “Their actions exemplify the impact of philanthropy on a community. Their community engagement aligns with our foundation’s commitment to build upon our stellar history of donor service and philanthropic excellence. On behalf of the Board and staff at the Community Foundation, I am delighted to welcome them to our Board.”

A Delray Beach resident, Boldin is not only well-known for his 14 years playing in the National Football League but also for his philanthropy, social advocacy and humanitarianism. A graduate of Florida State University, Boldin played professionally with the Detroit Lions, San Francisco 49ers, Arizona Cardinals and Baltimore Ravens – where he officially retired in 2019. Among numerous accolades and records, Boldin was named NFL’s “Walter Payton Man of the Year” in 2015 for his community service work. He currently serves as the co-founder of the Players Coalition, an independent player-driven nonprofit with a mission of ending social injustices and racial inequality. In addition, he and his wife Dionne formed the Anquan Boldin Foundation in 2004 with a mission to expand the educational and life opportunities for under-served youth.

Brumley began her career in South Florida nearly 40 years ago and the current President of Palm Beach County for Bank of America has been giving back to the area since. Based in Boca Raton, her other current leadership roles include Chair-elect of the Florida Bankers Association, Chair-Elect of the Economic Council of Palm Beach County, Secretary of the United Way of Palm Beach County, member and past chair of the Business Development Board of Palm Beach County and member of the i-Heart Advisory Board. Recognized with numerous awards, Brumley received both her bachelor’s and MBA degrees from Florida Atlantic University. She often serves as an expert on financial issues for entrepreneurs and women-owned businesses for local and national media.

Jackson-Moore is a Belle Glade resident and founder of Tammy’s Closet, an organization that helps people seeking to enter the workforce by providing them with free professional attire to attend job interviews. She is also co-founder of Guardians of the Glades, an organization that advocates on behalf of residents and businesses in the Tri-Cities. A Commissioner with the Health Care District of Palm Beach County, she also currently serves as the Secretary of the Lake Okeechobee Regional Economic Alliance, a board member with Community Partners, an advisory committee member for the Palm Beach County Sherriff’s Office and past Chair of the Palm Beach County Advisory Commission on Women. She was recently named by Legacy magazine as one of South Florida’s Most Powerful Black Leaders in Business for 2020.

President and sole Director of Ventus Charitable Foundation, Trim is a Jupiter resident and a member of the Board of the Education Foundation of Palm Beach County. Believing that education should be the engine of opportunity in our society, Trim received her own degrees from Harvard University and Harvard Law School. She created Ventus CF with the mission of supporting public education in Palm Beach County, particularly focusing on high-needs schools. In addition to its support of such programs as a computer programming and robotic class at Pahokee Middle School and numerous band and drum programs, Ventus CF was instrumental in creating and providing initial funding for Red Apple Supplies, the free resource store for teacher in Palm Beach County. In school year 20-21, Red Apple Supplies put more than $1 million of supplies into the hands of local teachers.
