OKEECHOBEE- The Okeechobee High School Brahman varsity baseball team held the Sebastian River Sharks scoreless to secure a 6-0 road win on March 5.

It’s the second time this season that the Okeechobee defense kept their opponents off the scoreboard. On Feb. 29 the Brahmans defeated Fort Pierce Westwood in an 11-0 rout.

Ethan Blomefield and Hunter Daniels led Okeechobee with two RBIs against the Sharks, While Gavin Kindell had two hits and two stolen bases. Brahman pitchers Carsen Williams, Ian Liscomb, and Tucker Myers all combined to allow only one hit.

The Brahmans are coming off a 12-12 record last year and an appearance in the district semifinal where they lost to the Suncoast Chargers. Okeechobee is scheduled to host Suncoast in a rematch of that district playoff game on March 20.

Suncoast was a powerhouse last season, and the Chargers look like they haven’t missed a step in the early part of this season. Last year they finished with a 21-8 record and advanced to the regional semifinal. Both the Chargers and last year’s district champion American Heritage will be big tests for Okeechobee this season.

Okeechobee hosts Suncoast at 7 p.m. on March 20.
