Portion of U.S. 441 (Parrott Avenue) to be closed June14-23

OKEECHOBEE – A section of U.S. 441 North, from N.E. Fifth Street to N.E. Ninth Street will be closed for 10 days starting June 14 at 6 a.m. for road work by the Florida Department of Transportation.

The project will include:
• Repave U.S. 441 (Parrott Avenue) from N.E. Fith Street to N.E. Ninth Street for a railroad crossing;

• Add pedestrian signals at the intersection of N.E. Ninth Street and U.S. 441;

• Install curb and gutter, new signage and pavement markers;

• Add a northbound left turn lane at N.W. Seventh Street; and,

• Improve drainage.

Estimated construction cost is $818,000.

U.S. 441 will be closed from N.E. Sixth Street to N.E. Ninth Street from June 14 through June 23. Drivers should follow the posted detour route and use caution in the area.

During construction, there will be intermittent lane closures on northbound and southbound U.S. 441.

C.W. Roberts Contractor is the contractor for the project.
