Okeechobee County Road Watch for week of Feb. 3

OKEECHOBEE COUNTY — The following column is the Road Watch report for Okeechobee County for the week beginning Sunday, Feb. 3, provided by the Florida Department of Transportation.

Motorists are reminded to wear safety belts and drive with caution, courtesy, common sense, and patience as they travel through work zones. Remember, speeding fines are doubled in work zones.

SR 70 at SE 10th Avenue: (Driveway permit project) Crews are re-constructing sidewalks and modifying utilities. Watch for workers close to and in the roadway.

SR 710 from Interceptor Creek to north of SE 67th Way: (Construction project) Crews will resurface SR 710 from Interceptor Creek to north of SE 67th Way, replace guardrail and install signing and pavement markings. During construction there may be daytime and nighttime lane closures on SR 710.

Motorists should expect intermittent daytime northbound and southbound lane closures on SR 710 near Mosquito Creek, while crews work on barrier wall.

Please use caution in the area and watch for workers in the work zones. Anticipated completion is early 2024.

US 441 South from SW 13th Street to Town ‘n Country Mobile Home Park: (Maintenance project) Single-lane closures are needed northbound and southbound along US 441 South between SW 13th Street and Town ‘n Country Mobile Home Park. Only one lane will be affected in one direction at a time from February 5 through February 25, 2024. Please use caution and watch for workers in the area.
