Students build towers

MOORE HAVEN — There are many aspects of AVID and collaboration is a big component of the program. This “Fun Friday” activity was challenging for each of the grade levels. The assignment was to create a tower (out of the limited supplies given) that is strong enough to hold an object but also make it taller than any of the groups. Moore Haven Middle-High School students love to compete with each other and boy were they trying to make the tallest towers. If the towers failed, they had to go back and re-engineer their tower to make it strong. In the end...there were three winners. Juniors with 36 inches, seniors with 33 inches, and a tie with seventh and sixth grade groups with 29 1/2 inches.
