FFA students prepare for arrival of hogs

Posted

BELLE GLADE — It’s hog season! The weekend of Sept. 11 and 12, Glades Day FFA students worked hard to prepare the barn for the arrival of their hogs on Sunday. Students will raise their hogs for market in January at the South Florida Fair. The market hog and steer projects provide students with a diversity of benefits, educational experiences, and responsibilities. Each student spends countless hours caring for their animal, developing a solid work ethic through real-life activities. Last year, Glades Day School was blessed with a new, spacious and well-designed hog barn for the FFA students to adequately learn and care for their hogs.. Glades Day School is truly grateful for all of the organizations and individuals who made this dream possible.
